Fashion Week Forecast: Day Six

Bonjour readers! We're on day six of our nine day series of fashion week trends. Aren't we all learning so much? By the way, I have no idea why I chose "nine" as the magic number for trends, but I did, so now I've got to stick with it. Now for a trend that has gotten a lot of press lately: color blocking.

This fashion trend is so easy it's ridiculous. Here are some quick directions on how to successfully pull it off:

1. Look in your closet.
2. Put on a shirt of one color.
3. Pick pants of a different color.
4. Pick a jacket or vest or shoes of a different color.
5. Congratulations. You've done it.

2. Pick a dress that has color blocking already on it.
3. Congratulations. You've done it.

Fashion Week Forecast: Day Five

I'd like to clear the color palette real quick and talk about the many uses of WHITE! It's clean. You can't get sick of it. It makes you look tanner. Also, it's color of snow. And/or virginity. Going once, going twice: SOLD.

As far as Spring 2012 goes, there's an unlimited amount of silhouettes you can use with this "white-all-over" trend. There are pant suits and dresses and shorts working the look, so really the possibilities are endless. Layer as much white as you want, or keep it clean and simple with an easy white dress. The choice is yours, dear reader.

Fashion Week Forecast: Day Four

Stripes are the name of the game today, folks! As part of* our nine-part series elucidating the fashion a la mode, today we will discuss the merits of the use of stripes in our day-to-day outfit circuit. We begin by bringing to light the simplicity of such a look and the benefits when attracting a mate. Males of our species tend not to understand the complicated "high fashion" that so many designers create. The use of shoulder pads, turbans, headpieces, and the like are too distracting when males are trying to observe the breast and gluteus regions of the female form. However, stripes are perfectly understood in their small and simplistic brains.

Fashion Week Forecast: Day Three

Voila! Our third trend of the nine-day fashion watch is FLOWERY! There were so many flower prints this season. On pants and shirts and dresses. And they were not discreet. They were bold and happy and in your face! This upcoming season is a pleasant one. It's a season for daffodils and happiness, and I think we can't get enough of that, now can we?
