AMURICA

I was feeling especially patriotic today/ didn't have time to wash my hair before we went out--thus, the bandana circa "The Wild West". I actually got the bandana from my good friend Grady, who is male, and straight, and as such, highly unlikely to even see that I mentioned him in my prestigious blog.

Nevertheless, I'm wearing my thrifted Mu Jeans that I cut myself--thankyouverymuch. So now they are VERY short, probably shorter than I would have preferred, but I've been looking at Nasty Gal too much lately, so really short shorts seemed like a perfectly acceptable fashion choice. Nevertheless, we must FORGE AHEAD.

So cute, no?

GRAPEFRUIT MARGARITAS

Marg time, once again. Not to be a one trick pony or anything, since I've already put up a fool-proof recipe for traditional margaritas (here), but I consider this to be another kind of beast altogether. These are (gasp!) GRAPEFRUIT STYLE. And I invented them myself. The grapefruits, that is. You. Are. Welcome.

P.S. This is for a big ol' pitcher of 'em.

Lauren's Grapefuit Margarita

Ingredients:
2/3 cup tequila
1/4 cup triple sec
splash of orange juice
1/4 cup of lime juice
1 1/2 cups of grapefruit juice (fresh-squeezed juices are preferred for all juicy-type matter.)
splash of sugar water (1:1 ratio of sugar to water, boil it. boom, it's a party.)
2 cups of ice

Directions:
Put it all in a blender. Blend it. Serve over ice. Drink it all.

Yellow On My Legs

I've decided...not contrarily or just to be annoying, but rather for my own comfort, to not do the typical "look at me in my pretty clothes" type of blogging. Not that those blogs don't have their own value. I frequent them like any other girl who just wants to look pretty in pretty clothes. My eternal struggle is that a. I don't have the money to pull off that type of blog (hint hint to any designers who want to give me free things. I WILL WEAR THEM.) and b. I don't really take myself seriously enough to be good at that type of blog. So. Here is my version. Yes I will make weird faces and pose in ways that real models shouldn't. That is just a risk you are taking by being around me. So for you young models out there who were hoping for a free lesson, keep a-walking, NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

I should preface these upcoming pictures by saying the lighting was what I was "going for" and entirely "intentional". Mostly I just wanted to show off my new happy yellow Fabrizio Gianni pants and my STRAWBERRY shoes (!!) which I've been meaning to show ya'll but I just haven't gotten around to it. I have other things in my life, ya know.

And if you had asked me what was in the red cup when I took these pictures...I would have replied "AGUA!!!" with hardly any slur at all.

Tipsy Party

People warn you against drunk blogging, but I say nay!! Live yo life! If you want to impact strangers whist consuming rum and cokes/ shots up the hizzle (what's a hizzle?), then that's your prerogative. Anyways, I'm reading this book "One Day" --don't you worry, I'll do a review-- and in it is a nice quote. I think it's very true and applicable to my life at the moment.

Hence: "Sometimes you are aware when your great moments are happening, and sometimes they rise from the past. Perhaps it's the same with people."
--James Salter, Burning The Days

Isn't that nice? I think it's particularly applicable to me currently. Let's just say I'm a pretty lucky girl.

Don't worry, I won't leave you hanging, here's some rando pics--look at me being a professional tipsy blogger.

Ode to GAGA

It's never too early in the morning for some Gaga Face. Another rando fact about me: I LOVE GAGA!@)$!@$*~ In fact, I love her so much--check it. This is me and my sis. We competed in a GAGA dance contest to get concert tickets. Needless to say we lost to a hip gay man in 6 inch hooker heels. I'd say he deserved the win.

Oh GAGA. That bitch blows my mind. She's so creative. And I love how she's hot without looking good all the time. You know what I mean? Sometimes it's liberating to think "well, I'm not wearing a miniskirt, and perhaps I have an enormous bedazzled bow on my head, but DAMN I look good". I wake up every morning with this kind of thought bubble hovering over my cranium. So cheers (!) to crazy awesome girls who are confident enough to look however the hell they wanna look.

Also, GAGA (I don't know why I feel the need to always have her name in caps) has a new tumblr! Check it out at amenfashion.tumblr.com which is where I stole all these images. Isn't that last dress fantastic?!?

Also:
Beyonce: "You know Gaga, trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if it's broke..."
Gaga: "...But you can still see the crack in that motherfucker's reflection."

Wise words from two killer ladies.

Snippy Snip Craft Time!

I've been feeling a bit...creative with my clothes lately. Because really, if I won't wear a certain pair of jeans as jeans, but I will wear them as cut-offs, then, man, I just gotta live my life. So the scissors were brought out and I wreaked damage on some of my old standbys. It was liberating. I felt like a free woman. And you can too! For only $19.99 a month all this could be yours! Just kidding. I'm as free as candy on Halloween.

Mu Jeans--now shorts!

I'm sure you can probably see that I didn't cut the yellow Fabrizio Gianni jeans, but they were just so cute I had to show them to you!
